Like almost all institutions of higher learning, the University of Missouri offers our special snowflakes indoctrination into liberal groupthink, with the concept of free speech collateral damage.

Now Mizzou, under new chancellor R. Bowen Loftin, has ratcheted things up a notch. Starting in January, everybody new on campus – students, faculty and staff – must take mandatory diversity training.

Writes Kimberly Bloom Jackson at the American Thinker: “Guilty or not, all freshmen must successfully pass the training to be eligible to enroll in regular classes. Why such lunacy? A single, drunk, white student shouted racial slurs to a group of black students.”

Something that should have been solved with a simple, effective punch to the offender’s snout brings about all this?

Naturally, the school needs yet another bureaucrat to oversee the initiative.

Ms. Jackson again: “Mizzou is reportedly conducting a national search to fill yet another morally superior position in an effort to expand their thought policing program – that of Vice Chancellor of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. Ah, utopia!”

Put her down as a solid maybe on this idea.

The smothering PC of campus life has crept into the presidential debate. Unlike most GOP candidates who say they’d abolish the Department of Education but would never actually do it, Ben Carson has a different idea. He told Glenn Beck of The Blaze:

“I actually have something I would use the Department of Education to do. It would be to monitor our institutions of higher education for extreme political bias and deny federal funding on that basis.”

In other words, Dr. Carson advocates using a federal agency to enforce his conservative views, nullifying existing PC with his brand.

Well, to hell with that.
